13-year-old boy saves baby in Washington

VANCOUVER, Wash.

Damon Davenport rushed to grab an 18-month-old boy after his brother fell from the second-story roof at an apartment complex.

The older boy fell about 20 feet and landed in a soft flower bed. That's when Davenport noticed the second baby still on the roof. He ran up the stairs, through a stranger's apartment and jumped out the window to save the baby.

"I ran up there and then I seen the baby crying and crawling up the roof at the same time, so I opened the window and bashed down the screen and grabbed the baby by its arms," said Davenport.

The fire department plans on giving Davenport a life-saving award. Neither child was seriously injured. Neighbors said the children got onto the roof because the lock on their window was broken.
