Hiker survives 4 days in Utah wilderness w/ broken leg

CEDAR CITY, Utah

Victoria Grover, 59, broke her leg jumping from a 4-foot ledge. She used a walking stick to create a makeshift splint and crawled to a nearby creek for water.

Then, she had to just sit and wait. Temperatures at night dropped into the low 30s.

She told reporters she survived by sleeping in shade during the day when highs were in the 50s and low 60s. She stayed awake at night while curled up in a poncho that she says helped save her life by serving as a wind breaker.

Doctors say Grover suffered from hypothermia but is expected to make a full recovery.

She says the hardest part of the whole ordeal was dealing with the incredible boredom waiting for someone to find her.
