OC teen mom convicted of killing newborn

SANTA ANA, Calif.

Yoselin Torres Tovar, 20, pleaded guilty to one felony count of second degree murder during the second day of her trial. She is expected to be sentenced to 16 years in state prison at her sentencing June 1.

Tovar gave birth to a baby girl in the bathroom of her family's Fullerton home in April 2010, when she was 18. She then stabbed the newborn multiple times, wrapped the body up and hid it in her closet. None of her family members knew she was pregnant.

After discovering blood on Tovar, family members took her St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton where it was discovered that she had just given birth. Doctors alerted police, who found the baby's body that night.
