More details about Clint Eastwood's wife's new E! reality show, "Mrs. Eastwood & Company," have been revealed and a special introducing the famous family is set to air later this week.
The series, which was announced in March, will showcase Dina Eastwood's hectic life as she raises her children, organizes school carpools, gets dinner on the table and ... manages a boy band. While her 81-year-old Oscar-winning director husband may make guest appearances, his wife says the show is not about him.
"If you are tuning in because you are an Eastwood lover, you might be disappointed," Dina Eastwood, 46, told reporters, according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's about the rest of the family, the band and their music. I gotta lay it out there."
The series will run for 10 episodes and was filmed in the family's hometown of Carmel, California as well as in Los Angeles. Clint and Dina Eastwood's 15-year-old daughter Morgan will appear on the series, as will the director's 19-year-old daughter Francesca, whose mother is ex-girlfriend and actress Frances Fisher.
Dina Eastwood, who is described as a "self proclaimed loud-mouth cheerleader," worked as a news anchor at local television stations in Arizona and California and met her husband while interviewing him in 1993. Dina Eastwood said in an E! statement on Wednesday, May 2, that she became pregnant with their daughter days after they married in 1996.
"I was a newlywed to Clint Eastwood, with a full time job, a kid within 9 months, and step-mom at the time to three small children. It was a lot. That's why I have white hair," she joked, adding about her husband: "We have a 35-year age difference. Anybody who doesn't think that's weird, check your pulse, OK?"
"Honestly, we are the weirdest people I know," Morgan Eastwood said. Her sister Francesca called Dina Eastwood "a little eccentric sometimes" and "a little dramatic all the time."
Rounding out the cast is the all-male, six-member South African vocal group Overtone, managed by Dina Eastwood. They had performed a private show for her husband and actors Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon when the three filmed his 2009 movie "Invictus" in South Africa.
"I don't know what the hell I was thinking. I was probably having a mid-life crisis," Dina Eastwood said in her statement. "Some women do crazy stuff, get shopping addictions or get other crazy things. My mid-life crisis was adopting a boy band. Managing Overtone has easily been the most stressful thing I've ever done. But we're this close to success. And something's going to happen. I just know it."
The famous family is set to be introduced in an E! special called "Meet Mrs. Eastwood & Company," which airs on Sunday, May 6, while the series itself begins on May 20, after the season 7 premiere of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."
