Justin Timberlake has come a long way since his days in the boy band 'NSYNC and the singer is relieved that his style has also progressed.
During his days with the popular boy band, Timberlake donned baggy jeans, bleached tips, neon tracksuits, tinted sunglasses and a variety of colorful leather jackets. Now the stylish singer-turned-actor is embarrassed by the fashion choices.
"There were many moments in my teenage years where I succumbed to, um, the weirdness of the group I was in," Timberlake told Details magazine in their May issue. "And in trying to conform - we're marionettes! - I ended up looking like a moron."
Timberlake and his fellow band members were also guilty of one of the "In Time" actor's pet peeves - using too much hair gel.
"I don't like when I see guys do too much hair gel," Timberlake told the men's magazine. "I don't mean Pauly D?because that's basically performance art. But when you use enough hair gel that your hair becomes a sculpture?and you wanted it to look that way? It's just weird."
The 31-year-old actor reportedly got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Jessica Biel. The pair has not confirmed the reports. They have been dating on and off for the past five years and have kept details about their relationship private despite stepping out together at public events.
Timberlake rose to fame as a member of 'NSYNC before launching his solo career and has taken home six Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards. His first two albums each sold over 7 million copies.
Timberlake has taken a break from music to concentrate on acting and received some positive notice for his role in the 2010 film Academy Award nominated film "The Social Network."
He will next appear opposite Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams in "Trouble with the Curve," which is slated to hit theaters on September 28 and follows an ailing baseball scout who takes his daughter along for his last recruiting trip.
