OTRC: Dennis Quaid's third wife cancels divorce filing

Dennis Quaid's third wife, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, has withdrawn the divorce papers she filed in March.

"In the matter of the marriage of B.K. and W.D. and in the interest of two children, B.K. no longer desires to prosecute this suit against respondent, W.D.," read the Notice of Nonsuit, which was filed in Travis County, Texas on April 26, according to court papers obtained by E! News.

Buffington-Quaid, a real-estate agent from Texas and Quaid's wife of nearly eight years, said in her original divorce filing that the couple's relationship had "become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities," according to Extra.

No reason for the reverse decision was listed on the Notice of Nonsuit. According to E! News, the couple went to Telluride, Colorado last month to work on their marriage and agreed to keep working on it.

"They have an explosive relationship but they do love each other," a source told E! News. "They are rethinking the divorce and seeing if they can actually make it work. It's been a difficult path for both of them, but they don't want to make a mistake and divorce... they both still have very strong feelings for one another."

Quaid and his wife married in July of 2004 and have 4-year-old twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. A spokesperson for Quaid confirmed the filing in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com in March, adding: "A satisfactory settlement is being worked out for both parties."

The actor and Buffington-Quaid welcomed their twins via a surrogate in 2007. The babies were put in intensive care after suffering an accidental overdose of the blood-thinner Heparin. Quaid later sued its manufacturer. The case made international headlines.

There was a temporary custody order in place, which indicated that the couple would share custody of the twins. According to Extra, Buffington-Quaid has been granted possession of the family's main house and a Mercedes, while Quaid would retain a condo and a Cadillac. The couple will share a Range Rover.

In October 2011, the actor put his $14 million Montana ranch on the market. The actor bought the land about 25 years ago and from "Straw Dogs" director Sam Peckinpah.

Quaid was previously married to actress P.J. Soles for five years, starting in 1978. He and Meg Ryan were married for 10 years, beginning in 1991, and have a 19-year-old son, Jack, who recently appeared in "The Hunger Games."

Quaid is known for a slew of films, such as "Frequency," "The Day After Tomorrow," "Vantage Point," "The Rookie," "Soul Surfer" and the 2011 reboot of "Footloose."
