Supermodel Anja Rubik channeled Angelina Jolie, and her infamous right leg, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala benefit, aka the Met Gala, in New York City on Monday.
At the 2012 Academy Awards, Jolie, 36, spurred an onstage imitation by an Oscar-winning screenwriter, a slew of online jokes and even a mock Twitter account called AngiesRightLeg after posing on the red carpet with her leg sticking out of a thigh-high slit in her black Atelier Versace gown.
Rubik, a 28-year-old native of Poland, took the trend, which had since filtered to high and low-end clothing stores, a few steps further at the Met Gala. She wore a white, one-shoulder, cutout Anthony Vaccarello gown with a waist-high slit that showed off her right leg, all the way up to her hip bone. She was accompanied by Eddie Borgo, who designed her earrings.
"Loved my dress! thanks again @anthonyvacc ! you rock!" Rubik Tweeted, adding: "@EddieBorgo thanks for being my date last night:)"
The person running the mock Twitter account AngiesRightLeg weighed in on Rubik's look, telling its some 46,400 followers: "Aw, hellllll no. Anja Rubick be frontin'. Her hip could slice deli meat (which she should then use to eat a sandwich)."
