TSA security breaches examined in hearings

WASHINGTON

According to a Department of Homeland Security study, the TSA is not adequately reporting, tracking or fixing airport security breaches.

The study, which was published in a recent report, also says the agency does not have a complete understanding of violations at the nation's airports.

New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg requested the report after a series of security breaches at Newark Liberty International Airport, including an incident in which a passenger with a knife was able to get by TSA screeners.
