Linda Hogan, the 52-year-old ex-wife of wrestler Hulk Hogan, and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Charley Hill, have called it quits after about four years together.
Hill was seen proposing to Linda on the season finale of the VH1 reality show "Couple's Therapy" last week. Day later, on Tuesday, May 15, Linda announced their breakup.
"Ok... My status has changed. I am now single," she said on her Facebook page. "After the great therapy we had together and time to think and concentrate on who we are and who we want to be, Charley and I decided that we should each travel through life in different directions."
"There was a lot of therapy involved, and the couple realized they needed to do their own thing," Linda's lawyer told VH1. "The realization came this weekend. But it was a mutual decision, and a whole new chapter for both of them."
Hill has not commented. He and Linda began dating in 2008, when he was 19 years old and she was 48. He had gone to school with her and Hogan's daughter Brooke. The Hogans, who were married for 24 years and also starred on a VH1 reality show, finalized their divorce a year later. The wrestling star has since remarried. His spokesperson had told reporters in July 2010 that Linda and Hill were engaged, adding that Hogan is "very happy" for his ex-wife. She did not comment.
The "Couple's Therapy" finale also saw Hill confronting Linda's mother, who disapproved of their relationship, namely because of their 29-year age difference. She appeared to soften her stance about him. "When I met Charlie, he was that rock," Linda said on the finale of "Couple's Therapy." "He was there through all those hard times."
