Six-alarm fire chars 3 buildings in Fontana

FONTANA, Calif.

The blaze in the 14000 block of Slover Avenue, which started about 5:30 p.m., spread to the property of a neighboring tire company. A third property was also involved. Officials said one of the buildings was saved.

Multiple explosions from propane tanks were heard. Diesel also burned during the fire.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department said firefighters were pulled out of the property and were battling the blaze from the outside.

One firefighter was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Official said it was heat related and was not life threatening.

About 200 firefighters were at the scene late into the night. The fire was not expected to be put out until sometime Sunday.
