OTRC: 'Dancing With The Stars' finals: Dance By Dance Recap

Telenovela star William Levy and his partner Cheryl Burke received 30 out of 30 points from the judges for their Cha Cha Cha and 29 out of 30 points for their Freestyle on the week ten finals of 'Dancing With The Stars,' which aired on May 21, 2012. His total score was 59 out of 60 points.

Come on, tell the truth. The first time you saw that mirror ball trophy, you laughed. We all thought "who'd want that piece of shiny, reflective hardware?" Well, fourteen seasons into "Dancing With The Stars" and it's a prize to behold. And this year, the football great, the classic singer, and the hot actor would all love to be the ones who get to take the trophy home.

All three couples dance twice Monday night; first, "judges' choice." It's a dance they've done before and one the judges believe will show how much the star has improved over the course of the season. The second dance is of course the all important, fan favorite freestyle! Here are the results, from highest combined score to lowest:

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas - Paso Doble 30 out of 30 / Freestyle 30 out of 30 / Total 60 out of 60

The judges wanted to see Katherine and Mark's "do over" on the Paso Doble. Head judge Len Goodman said the first time was too much aggression, not enough finesse. So they worked on added the technique to the mix and obviously it worked.

For their freestyle, Mark mixed in lots of different fast moving ballroom styles with a '20's theme. For this dance, Len said to host Tom Bergeron "if I'm asleep and dreaming, don't wake me up!"

William Levy and Cheryl Burke - Cha Cha 30 out of 30 / Freestyle 29 out of 30 / Total 59 out of 60

William's re-do dance was the Cha Cha. Bruno Tonioli thinks this dance can really show off how much William has improved over the ten weeks of competition. He was right and a perfect score followed!

Levy put lots of pressure on himself for the freestyle, asking Cheryl to choreograph lots of lifts and lots of risks. While Carrie Ann and Bruno thought their Latin themed dance was perfection, Len took issue with its predictability; he told William "you shake your butt and women scream, but I want more!"

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd - Argentine Tango 29 out of 30 / Freestyle 29 out of 30 / Total 59 out of 60

Len really didn't like Donald and Peta's first time to Tango and gave them an eight when they danced back in April. The duo was determined to get a higher score and Carrie Ann Inaba told him to go bigger with his movements. Again, she and Bruno thought the dance was "10" worthy; Len liked it more than the first time, but only bumped his score up to a 9.

That put major pressure on the couple to impress with the freestyle! And boy did Driver deliver! He showed what a true fan of the show he is by referencing the memorable, country-themed season two freestyle that pushed Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke to victory. He even brought along country singer Cowboy Troy to perform! All three of the judges were bowled over, and were especially pleased that he took a risk, and nailed it.

The couples will dance one more new routine on Tuesday night. And then? it's mirror ball time!
