Donald Driver, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, took home the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy on the season 14 finale of "Dancing with the Stars," much to the delight of his young children.

"I'm really proud that he got the Mirror Ball trophy," Driver's 6-year-old daughter Christina told OnTheRedCarpet.com's George Pennachio after the show. "He got really good scores."

Driver and his partner Peta Murgatroyd were announced champions of the ABC ballroom dancing contest series on the Tuesday night finale after a long and challenging journey. Driver's 8-year-old son Christian told OnTheRedCarpet.com that he would often encourage his father with pep talks.

"We tell him that every day, that's he's going to win and he did it," he said. "I'm a really happy son."

Driver's children were often present in the audience and could be seen cheering their dad on throughout the season. The athlete also has a baby daughter named Charity with his wife Betina.

Driver and Murgatroyd scored 30 out of 30 for their "24 Hour Challenge" Cha Cha dance, in which the dance couples had 24 hours to pair their dance style of choice to music given to them after Monday night's show.

"This was special for all of us," Driver told OnTheRedCarpet.com's George Pennachio after the show. "We took this journey together. I thank my wife for giving me the opportunity to be on this show - I mean look at us now. Everybody's dreams came true. I'm happy for that."

Driver, who often utilized his Twitter account to pump up his fans during voting, took to it again on May 23, but this time to thank fans for their ongoing support.

"Good morning! Thanks for the love and support! America you were amazing! Thank you," he Tweeted.

On May 21, the couple received 29 out of 30 points from the judges for their Argentine Tango and 30 out of 30 points for their Freestyle on the week ten finals of "Dancing with the Stars." His total score was 89 out of 90 points. Jenkins and her partner Mark Ballas came in second place with 90 out of 90 points, while Levy and Cheryl Burke took third with 89 out of 90 points.

In February 2012, the 37-year-old football player talked about his successful career and joked that the Mirror Ball Trophy would go well with his Super Bowl Trophy.

"You know, you always gotta claim victory and just hope that when it's all said and done, you're holding that ball in your hand and if not, then you feel like you've basically just shot yourself in the foot," he said. "But we've talked about it. I know her goal right now is to win it. This will be her first one, so, as well as mine, so it'll be good because it'll go well with my Super Bowl trophy."

Throughout the season the show featured a slew of musical performers including Carrie Underwood, Seal, Sugarland, Selena Gomez, Chris Brown and KISS. The final music performances of the season included former "Dancing With The Stars" season 14 contestant, music legend Gladys Knight, and "American Idol" winner and Grammy-Award winning singer Kelly Clarkson. Knight sang a cover of "Memories."

Clarkson hit the ballroom stage and sang a medley of her hit songs "Dark Side" and "Stronger." Her performance was accompanied by dance pros Kym Johnson, Tony Dovolani, Anna Trebunskaya, Tristan MacManus and the Troupe.

Driver was drafted by the Packers after finishing his football career at Alcorn State University in 1999. The team won the Super Bowl in 2011, marking its first victory since 1997. His partner, Murgatroyd, danced with Los Angeles Lakers basketball star Ron Artest in season 13 and was the first to be eliminated.
