Sisters found safe after disappearance from Long Beach motel

LONG BEACH, Calif.

The girls' mother, 33-year-old Diondria Cherie Davis, was in custody on suspicion of felony child endangerment, Long Beach police said. The woman who was with the girls was being questioned.

The girls, 13-year-old Sharron Cherie Bess and 9-year-old Deony Cherie Goodwin, were last seen Wednesday leaving the Colonial Motel in the 800 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, police said.

Davis told police that a woman she did not know offered to care for the girls, and she allowed the woman to leave the motel with them and had not seen them since.

Investigators said they obtained video that showed the girls leaving the motel with the woman, identified only as "CC."

"Shortly after the information was broadcasted, 'CC' contacted Los Angeles County Sheriffs in Lynwood, where she was at the time with the two girls," Long Beach police said in a statement.

It has not yet been determined whether CC will be arrested.
