Burglars target dead man's South Pasadena apartment

SOUTH PASADENA, Calif.

South Pasadena police said Miguel E. Santamaria was found unresponsive by a friend just after noon Monday at his home in the 1600 block of Amberwood Drive. Santamaria apparently died of natural causes.

Sometime after his death, police said burglars walked into the apartment and took several items that also included a laptop and phone. There was no forced entry into the home.

Santamaria's dog was found at a shelter in Downey, but police were still trying to track down his car. It was described as a green four-door 2001 Honda Civic, license plate number 4PIM316.

Anyone with information is urged to call South Pasadena police at (626) 318-5552.
