When Kim Kardashian arrived in Los Angeles after a trip from the Cannes Film Festival, her luggage was a little lighter and the reality star took to her official Twitter page on May 27 to complain to British Airways about the issue.
"Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage & taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental ¬ replaceable," Kardashian wrote.
The "sentimental" item Kardashian may have been referring to was a gift her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., gave her shortly before his death.
Robert Kardashian, a lawyer, died at age 59 in 2003 after battling cancer and according to E! News, the luggage thieves made off with a pair of vintage sunglasses Robert Kardashian Sr. gave his daughter before he died. Other items included smaller pieces of Tumi luggage, designer purses and hand bags, which were worth several thousands of dollars each.
"What happened to the days when you could lock your bags! We need to get back to that," Kardashian wrote on May 27. "There's no sense of security & no trust!"
The incident occurred between Kardashian's flight from London to Los Angeles. British Airways told E! News that the luggage appeared to be uncompromised when Kardashian traveled from Nice, France to London, England, the first part of her travel plans to get home. There was also no evidence that suggests the luggage was tampered with at London's Heathrow airport.
Kardashian was spotted last week at the Cannes Film Festival with Kanye West. The two are rumored to be dating. The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star appeared at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit on May 24. Check out photos from the event here.
Up next, Kardashian will be seen on the small screen on June 3 on the premiere of "Drop Dead Diva." Kardashian has a recurring role on the series' fourth season.
