Malin Akerman opened up about kissing Tom Cruise in the upcoming "Rock of Ages" and managed to make it sound rather unpleasant.

"People keep saying, 'Oh, your kiss with Tom Cruise!' It was literally like two dogs licking each other," Akerman told MTV of the kiss. "They call action, we go for it, and it is tongue all over."

In the musical movie adaptation, Akerman will play Constance, a journalist who intends to write an expose on "icon of rock" Stacee Jaxx (Cruise) but ends up sleeping with the rocker while singing a duet of Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is."

"It's amazing! I'm very proud of it," Akerman said of the love scene with the 49-year-old actor. "I can't wait to tell my grandfather about it. It was an unbelievable experience. First of all, to be able to do a duet with Tom Cruise and then to undress him and pretend to make love to him on an air hockey table. It was one of the most unbelievable scenes of my life. It was so much fun."

The 34-year-old actress had her first starring role opposite Ben Stiller in "The Heartbreak Kid." She also had roles in "Wanderlust," "27 Dresses," "The Proposal," "Couples Retreat" and "The Watchmen." The Sweden-born actress is the lead singer in the band The Petalstones and married the band's Italian drummer Roberto Zincone in 2007.

Akerman knows a few things about trying to make a name for yourself in Hollywood, the actress told OnTheRedCarpet.com that when she moved to Los Angeles, she was homeless for awhile.

"When I first came out here, I was completely jobless for a whole year," Akerman told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the "Wanderlust" premiere. "It was not fun but I was young enough that I didn't have anyone depending on me. I actually had a great time with my best friend. We were really creative with how we were going to get food and how we were going to make payments for rent. I did not sell my body on the street, if you were wondering... I've had moments of being completely homeless. I wandered L.A. That's how I was introduced to L.A. It was great."

"Rock of Ages" is based on a Broadway musical, whose cast recording does not feature songs from Rose or his band Guns N' Roses. It does, however, include tracks from other "hair metal" and '80s rock legends such as Twisted Sister, whose lead singer Dee Snider starred in the stage show, Poison, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Journey, Joan Jett and Def Leppard, which released the title song "Rock of Ages" in 1983.

The film is directed by Adam Shankman, who directed the musical movie remake of "Hairspray." In "Rock of Ages," Julianne Hough plays main character Sherrie Christian, a small town girl who has moved to Los Angeles to pursue singing. She has the hots for Jaxx and aspiring rocker Drew Boley, portrayed by Diego Boneta.

Bryan Cranston plays the mayor, Mike Whitmore, whose wife, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, wants to shut down an iconic rock club in the city's Sunset Strip. Russell Brand portrays Lonny Barnett, the venue's manager, while Alec Baldwin dons a wig to play Dennis Dupree, its owner. Christian at one point becomes a stripper to pay the bills and Mary J. Blige plays the owner of the club that employs her.

"Rock of Ages" is slated to open in theaters on June 15, watch a trailer below.
