Eva Longoria is known for being a political activist, but is the actress considering running for political office?
The former "Desperate Housewives" actress stars in the new historical war drama film "For Greater Glory" alongside actor Andy Garcia.
"The movie is about standing up for what you believe in, and this movie is about people who stood up for their faith, you know?" Longoria told OnTheRedCarpet.com correspondent Tony Cabrera at the movie's recent Los Angeles premiere. "You know, standing up for what you believe in is really hard to do, specifically in the 1930s when this film took place. I think we're doing that today, me being a political activist, you know I stand up every day for women's rights, Latinas' rights - we just do it in a different way now."
While the actress is passionate about her work, when asked if she'd ever consider running for a political post, she seemed adamant with her response: "No, no definitely not - no not at all."
The actress' celebrity and political acticism caught the attention of the president - earlier this year, she was appointed as a co-chair of Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
"For Greater Glory" depicts the Cristeros war in Mexico in the 1920s. Longoria also stars alongside Garcia in the 2012 film "The Truth."
