OTRC: Janel Parrish: 'Pretty Little Liars' season 3 premiere is 'unpredictable'

Janel Parrish talks to OnTheRedCarpet.com about 'Pretty Little Liars' on May 23, 2012.

Janel Parrish played the largely supporting character of Mona Vanderwaal on "Pretty Little Liars" who always seemed to just the right time to pop up for the secret-keeping lead characters on the ABC Family drama.

The show tells the story of four girls, Hannah (Ashley Benson), Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario), whose lives fall apart after the disappearance of their clique leader Alison. A year after Alison's death, the girls are tormented by a mysterious character named "A" who threatens to expose their secrets as well as their lives.

During the second season finale Mona was revealed as "A," however, the character drops a hint that she may not be working alone.

So what can fans expect from the season 3 premiere on June 5? "It's going to be crazy. No one will know what to expect, it's going to be unpredictable," Parrish told OnTheRedCarpet.com in a recent interview. "There's going to be lots of twists and turns and it's going to be fun."

The second season ended with Mona getting apprehended and being sent to a sanitarium. "When we come back its six months later and Mona is still there," the actress said. "You'll find out whose come to visit her, what her interactions with some of the girls is going to be like, and Garret was arrested for the murder of Alison and you'll find out whether he did it or not. "

"I think fans will be shocked to see who knows -- like people know each other in Rosewood that people wouldn't expect," Parrish added. "So there's going to be more connections that are made that I think fans are going to be shocked about."

Parrish promised that fans are "going to get a lot of questions answered" in the third season. As for playing Mona, the actress said, "It's something to sink my teeth into, definitely. To get to play three different roles, basically, on the show. You know, the dorky Mona, the popular Mona and now, Mona as 'A.'"

"We've just started to scratch the surface of Mona as 'A.' So it's going to get even more fun," she added.
