The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Evenflo is voluntarily recalling about 35,000 high chairs that convert into a toddler-size table and chair. The tray attached to the high chair can unexpectedly get detached, and the unrestrained child can fall and get hurt.
Evenflo has received 18 reports of trays getting detached, including eight reports of children who fell from the high chair and sustained bumps and bruises.
The recalled chairs can be identified by the model names and numbers located on a label on the lower portion of one of the high chair's legs.
The recalled items' names and model numbers are: Dottie Lime - 29111259; Dottie Rose - 29111271; Marianna - 29111234.
According to the CPSC, the recalled chairs were sold at Toys R Us and Wal-Mart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com and Wayfair.com between December 2011 and June 2012 for about $40 a piece.
If you bought the recalled high chairs, you should immediately call Evenflo for a replacement tray with installation and use instructions. Consumers can contact Evenflo at (800) 233-5921 between 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's website at http://safety.evenflo.com.
