An LAPD spokesman confirmed the arrests Monday. Police planned to release further details later in the week, and said more arrests are possible.
Police believe the suspects were gang members, but say Duncan was not involved in gangs.
Duncan, known as "Choir Boy," was a well-known youth pastor, as well as the music studio director at the Boys and Girls Club in Venice.
