Al Pacino heads back to Broadway in 'Glengarry Glen Ross'

LOS ANGELES

Pacino will play the role of aging salesman Shelley Levene, which was played by Jack Lemmon in the movie version.

Pacino, who played the role of Ricky Roma in a 1992 film version of the same play, was last on Broadway as Shylock in "The Merchant of Venice," which earned him a Tony nomination.

The revival the marks the 30th anniversary of David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the backbiting world of salesmen. Previews will start in mid-October.
