OTRC: Aerosmith sets out on Global Warming Tour, set to release a new album

After a rough couple of years between band mates Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Aerosmith is back on the road and set to release a new album since 2001.

The band kicked off their Global Warming Tour in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 16. As Rolling Stone notes in their write up of the first tour date, The relationship between Tyler and Perry soured with Tyler's decision to join the "American Idol" judging panel irking Perry and the singer falling off stage during a concert tour date in 2009.

Perry even mentioned he was considering replacing Tyler. Yet, it seems time has mended the rift between the two and the band hit the road for their 40th anniversary.

During their show on June 16, the band played hit songs like "Cryin'," "Sweet Emotion," "I Don't Want To miss a Thing" and "Dream On." Aerosmith also played songs off their upcoming studio album called "Music From Another Dimension," which will be on sale on August 28.

The band took the stage during the "American Idol" season 11 finale to perform the album's lead single "Legendary Child," which they also played at their concert on June 16. They also played a new song off the album called "Oh Yeah."

"It was halfway done and I was looking at [guitarist] Joe [Perry] and I said, 'Oh my God, we're back,'" Tyler told reporters after the "American Idol" finale in May about performing the "Legendary Child" single. "It's the kind of thing where it represents who you are. Who are you? We don't know. Sometimes our music speaks for us."

The 64-year-old singer is also set to get married again. Tyler confirmed his engagement to girlfriend Erin Brady, 38, in January. The two have been dating for five years.
