OTRC: Vanilla Ice denies death rumor, Guy Fieri says: 'Glad you're still here'

Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, talks to OnTheRedCarpet.com at the premiere of 'That's My Boy' on June 4, 2012.

All right, stop. Collaborate and listen: Vanilla Ice wants you to know he is alive, despite a recent death rumor.

The 44-year-old rapper and pop culture icon, known for the 1990 hit track "Ice Ice Baby," took to his Twitter page to debunk an online hoax that had claimed that he had died in a car accident - a common story used in false death reports about celebrities.

"I don't know who's spreading this rumor about me dying in a car crash but - IM ALIVE!" Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle Tweeted on Monday. " I have like 30 texts, from mom family and friends."

Food Network star Guy Fieri, a contemporary pop culture icon and host of the popular show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives," replied on Twitter: "Glad you're still here my brutha @vanillaice!!"

Vanilla Ice was recently seen in the comedy film "That's My Boy," which was released on Friday and stars Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg.

"I just kind of get in where I fit in. When I first met these guys, I was wondering what they're going to be like - especially Adam, 'cause all I know is from the movies," the rapper told OnTheRedCarpet.com. So it's like, 'Happy Gilmore,' is he going to be like 'Waterboy' or 'Billy Madison'? He's done so many."

"I get there and sure enough, he's exactly like that," Vanilla Ice added about Sandler. "It's amazing. His office is a mess, it's got kid's toys everywhere. He made a really nice, relaxed environment for me and he even let me have input in some of the stuff ... it's amazing how we kind of just vibed and had a great time making it."

Sandler has two daughters, Sadie and Sunny. Vanilla Ice also has two - Dusti Rain and KeeLee Breeze.

He currently hosts a home improvement reality show, "The Vanilla Ice Project," which airs on Sundays on the DIY Network.
