Nathan Followill, drummer for rock band Kings of Leon, announced that he and wife Jessie Baylin are expecting their first child.

The 33-year-old musician married his Nashville-based singer-songwriter sweetheart, 28, in a Tennessee ceremony in November 2009.

"I can proudly announce that me & the lovely @JessieBaylin are expecting our first child. I'm beyond excited/anxious. Life is beautiful," he Tweeted on Wednesday, June 27.

The pair are expecting their bundle of joy to arrive in December, Followill's rep told the Associated Press.

Less than one week prior to his announcement, Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill and his wife, Victoria's Secret model Lily Aldridge, welcomed their first child. Their daughter, Dixie Pearl, was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 1. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. and measured 22 inches long.

Caleb and Aldridge married in Santa Barbara on May 12, 2011. The two became engaged in September 2010 after two years of dating. She appears in the band's "Use Somebody" music video.

Jared Followill, bass guitar player in the band, got engaged to his model girlfriend Martha Patterson in May.

Fellow band mate and cousin Matthew Followill and his wife Johanna Bennett welcomed their son Knox in April 2011.

Kings of Leon is known for hits such as "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" from their 2008 CD, "Only by the Night," which marked their first Platinum-selling album and won the band members their first Grammy. The group has three in total.

The band's most recent album, "Come Around Sundown," was released in 2010. The record received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album in 2011.
