Casey Anthony had mental issues, lawyer says in new book

ORLANDO, Fla.

In the book, called "Presumed Guilty, Casey Anthony: The Inside Story," Jose Baez said Anthony's mental health issues contributed to her habitual lying. Jurors acquitted Anthony of first-degree murder but convicted her of four misdemeanor counts of lying to investigators.

According to the Associated Press, Baez detailed alleged sexual abuse committed by Anthony's father, saying that it contributed to her mental issues.

Baez also revealed that Anthony's first meal out of jail was a cheeseburger and fries from Steak 'n Shake. After her meal, she got on a private plane that took her to the Florida resort community, St. George Island.

Anthony then went to New York until she had to return to Florida to serve her probation sentence for an unrelated charge. The book is set to hit store shelves July 3.
