Ann Curry out as co-host of 'Today' show

NEW YORK

After nearly a week of rumors, Curry officially said her emotional goodbyes during Thursday morning's show. Her exit comes as NBC deals with the show's ratings troubles.

Curry joined the show as a news anchor in 1997. She was given the chance to co-host when Meredith Vieira left last June.

Curry said she will still be working at NBC News, leading a reporting team. According to NBC, she will be anchor-at-large and work as a correspondent.

Savannah Guthrie is expected to replace Curry. She will be joining Matt Lauer, Natalie Morales and Al Roker.
