Hollywood Hills home-invasion victim shot

LOS ANGELES

Authorities say two residents and a handyman were at home when three suspects entered a home in the 3300 block of Charleston Way at about 9 a.m. and demanded money. Police said the suspects entered through the open garage door.

"Everybody that was in the house at the time had a gun pointed at them at one point or another," said LAPD Detective Steve Koman.

LAPD investigators say the victims were led through every room of the house, as the three suspects searched for property to steal - but more than anything, they wanted cash, according to police.

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. One man, who was shot during the confrontation, was taken to a local hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not life-threatening.

Residents in the area said a married couple recently moved into the home and had a garage sale over the weekend.

"They had a garage sale for the last weekend, and all sorts of people were up here looking through stuff," said neighbor Tree Lockie.

No suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call police at (877) LAPD-24-7.
