Adam Levine recently debuted a surprisingly rugged and hairy look.

Levine also showcased a hairier exterior on the set of his first feature film, "Can a Song Save Your Life?" on Sunday, although he only sported a mustache, as seen in a photo posted on People magazine.
The drama film stars Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld as well as Cee-Lo Green, who is one of Levine's three co-judges on the NBC singing contest series "The Voice." "Can a Song Save Your Life?" follows a dejected music business executive who forms a bond with a young singer-songwriter who is new to Manhattan. The film is set to air in 2013.
"Shot my first scene this morning! I think I did well because nobody yelled at me," Levine Tweeted on Monday.
That day he also posted a photo of himself appearing clean-shaven.
The popular singer is also set to appear on the dark FX series "American Horror Story" during its second season, which premieres in October 2012.
In May, Levine used his Twitter page to tease another new a new look - a bloody one. It was for his music video "Payphone." The song is the first single from his rock band Maroon 5's new album, "Overexposed," which is the group's fourth major record in almost two years.
