Redlands 4th of July celebration embraces tradition

REDLANDS, Calif.

The 45th annual parade kicked off Wednesday morning, featuring floats, Purple Heart recipients and bands. Residents camped out at Sylvan Park to watch as the parade headed down University Avenue.

"I think it's absolutely wonderful. Redlands is just a wonderful town to live in," said one resident.

Festivities at the park were scheduled to end at 3 p.m. The celebration continues at the University of Redlands stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the fireworks start at 9 p.m. It costs $10 to get in and sit anywhere, or visitors can pay $15 for seats on the bleachers.
