Jackson Rathbone, who stars in the "Twilight" films, has welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Sheila Hafsadi.
"Thank you ALL for the love & support! Sheila & I couldn't be happier to have such a beautiful, healthy baby boy, Monroe Jackson Rathbone VI," the actor Tweeted on Thursday.
This is the first child for Rathbone, 27, and his girlfriend. Their bundle of joy was born at 9:43 a.m. that day and weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds, 11 ounces, according to People magazine.
A source told US Weekly in February that the actor met his burlesque dancer girlfriend Hafsadi, 24, while he was on tour with his band 100 Monkeys. At the time of their story, she was reported to be five months pregnant.
The actor continued to share his excitement on Twitter, adding just hours later: "Feeling so blessed! What an amazing day! Love and respect, Bone Daddy."
Rathbone's real name is Monroe Jackson Rathbone V. His late great-grandfather was the CEO of what is now oil giant Exxon.
In the "Twilight" films, Rathbone plays Jasper Hale, the brother of vampire Edward Cullen, who is portrayed by Robert Pattinson. The two and the rest of the main cast members, including Kristen Stewart, reprise their roles in the highly anticipated final installment, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," which is set for release in November.
Rathbone also stars in the online series "Aim High," which debuted in 2011, and is also set to appear in the 2012 films "Live in the Foxes Den" and "DaZe: Vol. Too (sic) - NonSeNse."
Rathbone talked to OnTheRedCarpet.com several weeks ago about the end of his "amazing" "Twilight" "journey" and what the fans mean to him.
"I've met these fans that have become friends with people across the world," he said, citing the online connections that have been made throughout the years since the first movie debuted in 2008. "It's amazing a piece of art can bring people together like that. I read a lot of my fan mail 'cause I'm lucky to get it - it's amazing."
