Taylor Kitsch says he found it no big deal to bare his butt in the new R-rated "Savages," which features his character involved in a three-way sexual relationship with a woman and a man.
"I think when you sign up to a film called 'Savages' and directed by Oliver Stone, you know what you're getting into, right?" Kitsch told OnTheRedCarpet.com and other outlets at the film's recent premiere in Los Angeles. "So it is what it is. I don't make it a big deal."
In "Savages," "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively plays an American woman named O. Kitsch, known for previous roles in films such as "John Carter" and "Battleship," plays one of her boyfriends, Chon, who Aaron Johnson plays the other, his best friend Ben. The two men are pot growers. O gets herself kidnapped by members of a Mexican drug cartel, headed by Elena, played by Salma Hayek.
Kitsch said Lively is "awesome" and "very chill."
"Unfortunately we didn't have a ton of stuff to do together only because she gets kidnapped so it's more me fighting for her in the film," he added.
Lively told OnTheRedCarpet.com that filming sex scenes with Kitsch and Johnson "not as exciting as it looks on screen."
"You go onto set, there's all these crew members and then there's like these naked men walking around," she said. "It just makes for an awkward environment."
"Savages" stars Benicio Del Toro and Demian Bichir as Elena's cronies, while John Travola plays a corrupt DEA agent. Stone told OnTheRedCarpet.com that while he sought Travolta, Hayek and Del Toro for their roles, while he was unfamiliar with Lively, Kitsch and Johnson before casting the film.
"He's a terrific leading man," Stone said about Kitsch. "He did a great job."
"Savages" hits theaters on Friday, July 6.
