Ventura pursuit suspect caught after fleeing

VENTURA, Calif.

The incident started around 1:12 a.m. Friday when an officer saw the suspect driving the stolen car and tried to stop him at the intersection of Main and Palm streets. The driver, 19-year-old Daniel Gallimore, immediately sped away and a pursuit ensued, according to police.

After driving for several blocks, Gallimore jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle was still moving, but an officer was able to stop it before it hit other cars.

Authorities then set up a perimeter to find Gallimore. They eventually found him at a residence in the 100 block of South Laurel Street. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Two other men in the home were arrested. Shea Murdock, 31, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Parolee John Hickman, 35, was bitten by the Ventura Police K-9 when he was found hiding in the residence and refused to come out. Hickman was taken into custody and booked for resisting arrest. It was not immediately known how the pursuit suspect knew the other two men.
