According to investigators, Lauren Beatriz Pettit, 45, told police she stabbed her 33-year-old boyfriend on Monday because he wanted to die. Authorities did not release any further details.
The victim was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery for his injuries. His condition was not immediately known.
Pettit was arrested for attempted murder and booked into the Orange County Jail.
