15-year-old boy robbed on Ventura Promenade; 3 arrested

VENTURA, Calif.

Police said the victim was walking with a friend around 4 p.m. when he was confronted by a group of people, including an adult male and two juveniles. The victim said he recognized some of the people from school.

The adult suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jose Gonzalez, allegedly walked up to the victim, talked to him briefly and then took his hat. While Gonzalez was talking to the victim, one of the juvenile suspects punched the victim in the face, according to police.

The suspects fled the scene on foot, but they were eventually located near the Ventura County Fairgrounds and taken into custody.

Gonzalez was booked into the Ventura County Jail for robbery. A 15-year-old boy was arrested for robbery and possession of graffiti tools. A 16-year-old boy was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of graffiti tools.
