Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte have welcomed a baby girl, who is their first child together, and also revealed some sad news - the child's twin brother did not made it to full term.
Walsh, 31, gave birth to their daughter, Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer, at 1 a.m. in Los Angeles on Friday, July 13, the couple said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. She weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces.
The 57-year-old "Frasier" alum, now stars in the Starz show "Boss," announced at the 2012 Golden Globes in January of this year that his wife was pregnant and that he was "really looking forward to meeting these new arrivals," confirming two babies.
"We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins," the couple said in Friday's statement. "Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter. This was not something we cared to make known publicly at the time. It was unspeakably painful and we know that people will understand our desire to keep the news private then, as we know they will respect our privacy in this matter now."
"A glorious birth with a lingering sadness is ours today," they added. "We choose to celebrate the life that has been given us. We proudly introduce our Faith to the world today looking forward to the days ahead and the children yet to come."
Kayte also suffered a miscarriage in August 2010 after becoming pregnant with his fifth child, Grammer had revealed the following October. The two wed in February 2011 after he finalized his divorce from his third wife, Camille.
Grammer has two sons with Camille, a former cast member of the reality show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," and two daughters from previous relationships. He also became a grandfather in October 2011, after his daughter Spencer, known for her role in the ABC Family series "Greek," gave birth to her first child, a boy. The actor had told OnTheRedCarpet.com he wants his new grandson to call him "Kelsey."
