Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise recently suffered a scare when a garbage truck sideswiped their Mercedes but sustained no injuries, while the actress' ex-husband Tom Cruise flew to New York to see the child.

"Suri was crying in the car," a source told People, which carried the report.
The outlet added that a police report was filed after the pair returned home. People also reported that a paparazzi car hit a vehicle carrying Holmes and her daughter last Friday, as they left the FAO Schwarz toy store. She wore coral flip flops and carried a stuffed animal. It is believed to be their first in-person encounter since the divorce was finalized.
Holmes has meanwhile reportedly made school arrangements for her daughter. The actress, who was raised Catholic, has enrolled her in the elite Manhattan Catholic school Convent of the Sacred Heart, E! Online reported. Its alumni include the likes of Gloria Vanderbilt and Lady Gaga, who featured several of its schoolgirls in her 2011 ABC special "A Very Gaga Thanksgiving."
