The family of Sage Stallone reportedly met with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office on July 17 over concerns of Stallone's health prior to his death.

The family was reportedly concerned that the 36-year-old was overmedicated before his death, ABC News reports. The report does not specify if Stallone's father, actor and director Sylvester Stallone, attended the meeting.

The meeting also focused on the status of the official's investigation. The unnamed source cited by ABC News also claims that reports of Sylvester Stallone hiring a private investigator to look into his son's death are inaccurate.

The Los Angeles Police Department's robbery-homicide division was brought into the investigation of Sage Stallone's death, but it was stressed that there were no signs of foul play.

The official cause of death of Sage Stallone may take weeks to learn due to toxicology tests. The autopsy was completed on July 15.

Sage Sallone's mother, Sasha Czack reportedly told The New York Post that the 36-year-old had five teeth pulled two weeks before his death and was taking painkillers.

"I told him not to do that. I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth," Czack reportedly told the newspaper. "Do not have more than one tooth [pulled].

Sage Stallone was found dead at his Studio City home on July 13 after police conducted a welfare check on his home after no one had heard from him for several days. The LAPD said in a statement there were no signs of forced entry or any other criminal activity that would currently prompt a "criminal investigation."

On July 16, Sylvester Stallone released a statement urging people to respect the memory of his oldest son.

"This is in reference to the speculation and questionable reporting surrounding the death of my son Sage," his father said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com on Monday, July 16. "Because when a parent loses a child, there is no greater pain."

"Therefore, I am imploring people to respect my wonderfully talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha, because this agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives," he said about his first wife and son's mother. "Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace."

Sage Stallone was the son of Sylvester Stallone and his first wife Sasha Czack. The couple also has a son named Seargeoh Stallone. Stallone and Czack divorced in 1985. Sylvester Stallone also has three daughters with current wife Jennifer Flavin.

Sage Stallone appeared in his father's film "Rocky V" in 1990 as the son of Sylvester's famous character Rocky Balboa.
