Georgia May Jagger might have modeling in her DNA from her former supermodel mother Jerry Hall, but the daughter of rock star Mick Jagger says she also gets her style inspiration from Madonna.
Perhaps then the 20-year-old Jagger was the perfect choice to become the face of the fall 2012 Material Girl marketing campaign.
"I had so much fun shooting this campaign," Jagger said in a statement about posing for the line. The photo shoot took place at the rehearsal for Madonna's MDNA tour at Nassau Coliseum in May.
"I spent a lot of my childhood backstage hanging out around amps. That was where we chilled when we were younger," she added. "So this photo shoot brought back a lot of memories. I have always admired Madonna's music and style; she is constantly reinventing herself."
The line is a collaboration between Madonna and her daughter Lourdes Leon. Jagger said in a recent interview with The Associated Press that, "I do think it represents Madonna's style when she was younger. Girls my age are still trying to do it. It's all youthful and fun and carefree style that she's known for."
"We think Georgia May has great style and perfectly captures the energy and free spirit of the Material Girl Fall line," Madonna and her daughter Lola said in a joint statement about the campaign. Georgia May is the second daughter of a rock star to serve as the face of one of the line's campaigns. Previously Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Ozzy Osbourne, modeled for the line in 2011.
She admits that despite her father's high-profile connections in the music industry, she had never met Madonna until she signed on to do the campaign, though she did attend a concert "years and years ago."
Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall have four children together, including Georgia May. The couple split in 1999. Mick Jagger also has two daughters, one by Marsha Hunt and one by Bianca Jagger, and a son by Luciana Gimenez.
Georgia May Jagger's half-sister Jade -- the Rolling Stones frontman's daughter with Bianca Jagger -- married DJ Adrian Fillary in a star-studded ceremony on June 30.
