In the final episode of "The Bachelorette" this season, Emily Maynard had a tough choice between Jef with one "F," the entrepreneur from Utah, and Arie, the race car driver from the Netherlands. So who did Emily end up choosing in the end and did the winning contestant pop the question? Find out below.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
In the end, Maynard, 26, chose 27-year-old Jef Holm and he proposed on the spot. Although Emily had some hesitation, she said yes.
Meanwhile, Arie did not even appear at the end because Emily dumped him at the start of their final date. She realized she had stronger feelings for Jef after Jef met Emily's daughter for the first time.
Had Arie made it to the final round, it seemed like he was ready to propose. When he met with Emily's father, he asked for her hand in marriage. Arie never got a chance to meet Emily's daughter.
During the "After The Rose" special, Arie revealed that once the show was over, he secretly flew to Emily's hometown in Charlotte hoping to meet with her and get "closure." The show did not know about this meeting and Arie spoke with Emily on the phone. Arie also gave Emily a journal that he kept during the filming of the series.
Emily revealed to Arie that she hadn't read the journal because she felt it was too personal and it was not appropriate out of respect for Jef. Arie said that it was a conversation with Jef that finally helped him get closure.
Later, Jef was brought out and both Emily and Jef watched the proposal for the first time. Jef then revealed that he would move to Charlotte, North Carolina, where Emily currently lives with her daughter. Jef said he would get a separate place and that the two would, after getting married, live together and become a family. He said he decided to uproot his life because it would be best for Emily's daughter. The couple also revealed they're planning a humanitarian trip to Africa together soon.
In May, Maynard told OnTheRedCarpet.com that Jef had the best sense of humor and the best mind out of all the contestants on the show. She also said Arie had the nicest eyes and, along with Jef, was one of the silliest contestants.
Maynard won the 15th season of "The Bachelor" but later split with its star, Brad Womack. She said there are no hard feelings between the two.
"I think Brad is a great guy. He's not my guy necessarily, but I think he's a great person who deserves the best," she said.
She later added, "Between Brad and I there wasn't really anything to forgive on either side it was just -- we're different people and we are looking for two different things."
