Alex Trebek returns to 'Jeopardy!' set 1 month after suffering heart attack

Trebek, who turned 72 on Sunday, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on June 23 and remained hospitalized for a few days for observation.

According to "Jeopardy!" senior publicist Phil Zimmerman, the beloved game show host is in good health and planning home improvement projects.

Trebek has hosted the show since it began its current run in 1984. He is a five-time Daytime Emmy Award recipient as outstanding game show host, most recently in 2008. "Jeopardy!" has won a total of 30 Emmy awards, including the 2012 Emmy for best game show, which was given out while Trebek was hospitalized.

New episodes of "Jeopardy!" will begin airing on Monday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. PT on ABC7.
