Cheetah cubs make debut at Smithsonian Zoo in DC

WASHINGTON

Two new cheetah cubs made their public debut Tuesday.

The pair got a tough start in life: The male was abandoned by his mother, and the other, a female, was delivered by cesarean section and had to receive hours of intensive care just to survive.

Now both are happy and healthy.

The zoo plans to name them after the fastest U.S. man and woman in the 100-meter dash at the Summer Olympics.
