Young father shot dead in Norwalk

NORWALK, Calif.

Surveillance video from June 28 in the 13500 block of Norwalk Boulevard in Norwalk shows tow truck driver Robert Garcia, 22, on the driver's side of the truck.

For some an unknown reason, Garcia was shot once in the neck and once in the back. As three suspects stayed near the back of the truck, the fatally-wounded Garcia made his way to the door of the office. A fellow employee opened the door, but by then it was too late.

Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca and the mother of Garcia's 3-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son asked for help Wednesday to identify the suspects.

"I don't know why or how someone could have done this to Robert," Breana Cardenas said. "Not a day goes by that I miss his big smile. Robert was a guy you could ask for help and he would do it without asking nothing in return."

The sheriff's department has no motive or suspects.

Anyone with information about this murder is being asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
