Emily Maynard may have met her fiance Jef Holm in an unconventional way, but she still considers herself a traditional woman.
The reality star talked to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS radio show on July 26 along with Holm about "The Bachelorette" finale, taking on Holm's last name and the couple's wedding plans. The interview can be heard below.
When asked by Seacrest if she would take Holm's last name, Maynard said, "Even though I went on 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelorette' I'm pretty traditional, believe it or not. So, yeah, for sure."
Holm's big proposal aired on the season finale of "The Bachelorette" on July 22. Right after Holm asked Maynard to marry him, Maynard paused for about 10 seconds before accepting his proposal.
She later explained on an interview on "Good Morning America" on July 23, "I just wanted to soak in the moment and like really make a decision from my heart and just take in the moment and remember it."
Holm was also the only contestant on the show to meet her 7-year-old daughter Ricki. As for the couple's wedding, Maynard said they haven't planned anything just yet.
"We don't have like a specific date set yet. We were just now able to tell our family and friends that we were engaged," she told Seacrest.
Holm remarked that even though the two met on a television show, their relationship feels natural.
"It doesn't even seem like we met, like on a show," Holm said. "It's so weird to us I mean we talk about it all the time. It's like I can't believe we found each other the way we did."
Maynard, 26, has previously been engaged twice - to Brad Womack on season 15 of "The Bachelor" and to NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, who died in a 2004 plane crash. She is a full-time mother to her and Hendrick's 7-year-old daughter Ricki.
Holm, a 28-year-old social entrepreneur and skateboarder, said that he planned to move from Utah to Charlotte, North Carolina to be with his new fiancee and her daughter.
