Dan Aykroyd said it was an honor to officiate Chevy Chase's daughter's wedding on Thursday, July 26.
The "Ghostbusters" actor shared a photo of the wedding on his official Facebook page, which shows him performing the duties of minister to a laughing bridal party, while Chase sits in the front row of his eldest daughter Cydney's wedding.
"It was an honor, privilege and great responsibility to have officiated as the spiritual minister at Chevy Chase's daughter's wedding," Aykroyd wrote on his official Facebook page. "The bride and groom are delightful and beautiful young people who will help define together a more positive and loving future for themselves, family, friends and the world."
Chevy Chase, who currently stars on the NBC comedy "Community," is the father of three daughters - Cydney Cathalene, 29, Caley Leigh, 27, and Emily Evelyn, 23. He has been married to his wife Jayni since 1982.
Aykroyd and Chase, who appeared on the live sketch comedy series "Saturday Night Live" together, have been longtime friends. The pair has also starred in films like "Nothing But Trouble" and "Spies Like Us."
The pair recently guest-starred in a "Family Guy" episode entitled "Spies Reminiscent of Us."
In March, Aykroyd announced that he was working on a comedy script with Chase. The film will be the first time the pair has appeared on screen together since the 1991 film "Nothing But Trouble."
"Chevy and I are about to start work on a script concept for a comedy movie," Aykroyd wrote on his Facebook page on March 19. "Cannot say too much about the concept, but the joy of working with him again is one that I am extremely excited about. Chevy is one of my favourite people, and one of the great anarchistic and physically committed comedians in the business."
Aykroyd considers himself to be a Spiritualist. His great-grandfather was a mystic who had a correspondence with author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on the topic of Spiritualism. Aykroyd also has an interest in the paranormal and is a member and Hollywood consultant for the Mutual UFO Network.
Aykroyd will appear next in the upcoming Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis comedy "The Campaign," which is slated for release on August 10, 2012. He recently rallied to get "Ghostbusters 3" made and while the project was put on hold when Bill Murray refused to appear in the revival, Sony recently hired a new writer to pen the script, according to Variety.
