OTRC: 'Skyfall' trailer reveals new Bond villain role - See video

A new trailer for "Skyfall," the 23rd film in the James Bond franchise, debuted online on July 31 and viewers got a glimpse of Daniel Craig's Bond coming back from the dead and a blond Javier Bardem as the film's villain.

The new trailer also reveals some plot details for the film. Bond appears to get killed off in the beginning of trailer only to reappear out of hiding later in order to help his boss, M (played by Judi Dench), who is threatened and almost killed after British Secret Intelligence Service headquarters is attacked.

About midway through the trailer Bardem makes his first appearance as the villain Silva in a blond wig. It's not the first time Bardem has played a menacing villain with a curious hairstyle. The actor won an Oscar for his role as an assassin in the 2007 film "No Country For Old Men."

Viewers also see the return of the franchise character Q, who had been missing from the two previous Bond films. This time the tech whiz is played by a fresh-faced 31-year-old Ben Whishaw.

The new 'Bond girls," of "Skyfall" are Berenice Marlohe, a French actress and model who previously starred in only French projects, and Naomi Harris, who is British.

The film also stars Ralph Fiennes as M's boss Gareth Mallory. "Skyfall" is directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes. Filming took place in Turkey as well as Scotland, England and Shanghai, China. It is the third franchise film for Craig, who played James Bond in the films "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace."

The new Bond film is set for release on November 9, almost 50 years after the release of the first James Bond film, "Dr. No," which was released in 1962 and starred Sean Connery.
