Eminem has become the first person to hit 60 million likes on Facebook and has now become the most popular person on the social networking site, dead or alive.

The rapper has surpassed music heavyweights Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Rihanna and Justin Bieber as the most popular person on the social networking site ever, according to Mashable.com.

Though Eminem almost exclusively posts links to YouTube videos with no personal comments, he brings in nearly 26,000 new likes a day. He is far from being the most talked about celebrity on Facebook, however, netting just 290,896 in the site's "talking about this" rating system, which was launched in October 2011. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga has 1.2 million "talking about this."

The Detroit-born lyricist has maintained his dominance on Facebook, since March 2011 when he surpassed Michael Jackson, who was previously the top person on the site and still has an impressive 51.2 million fans.

OnTheRedCarpet.com contacted Facebook to confirm the statistics but, according to a spokesperson, the site does not publicly share growth statistics for pages.

Lady Gaga has maintained her dominance on Twitter, with 27.8 million Twitter followers, while Eminem has 11.8 million followers on the micro-blogging site.

Currently, the pop diva is hot on Eminem's heels with 53 million likes, while Justin Bieber has 45.7 million. Rihanna, who has the fastest growing page on the site, is closest on his trail with 59.4 million likes.

Eminem enjoyed a successful return to music in 2010, releasing the best-selling album of the year, "Recovery," which sold over 4.6 million units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. He also won two Grammy awards in that year.
