Dehumidifiers recalled for overheating risk

LOS ANGELES

The 35-, 50- and 70-pint units are made out of white plastic and have a Kenmore logo on the front. They stand between 21 and 24 inches tall and are about 15 inches wide. The recall affects nearly 800,000 units sold between 2003 and 2009.

So far, there have been over 100 reports of incidents involving the units, causing more than $7 million in property damage. Consumers with recalled dehumidifier units should immediately stop using them.
