Sofia Vergara's son Manolo Gonzalez shared a video of Nick Loeb's proposal to the "Modern Family" star, during her 40th birthday celebration in Mexico.
In the video, Vergara is shown visiting the Chichen Itza Mayan ruins with family members and friends, including her "Modern Family" co-star Julie Bowen.
Manolo Gonzalez narrated the video and said, "One of my mom's dreams came true - as a little girl, she always wanted to go to the top of the pyramids. Unfortunately, people are not allowed to do that anymore. But since it was her birthday, her team worked for months on end to get her special permission to go up.
The video shows Vergara and 36-year-old Loeb on the pyramid and Gonzalez explained, "Once they were to the top of the pyramid, my mother's longtime boyfriend, Nick, proposed to her."
Back at the base of the pyramid, Vergara showed off the stunning ring, but made no verbal confirmation of the engagement.
It was rumored that the Columbian actress was engaged, following her 40th birthday on July 10. However, People Espanol outlet's Spanish-language version quoted the actress' rep as saying: "As of today, Sofia is not engaged."
Vergara's spokesperson had no immediate comment about the matter when asked by OnTheRedCarpet.com.
It was reported in May that the couple split after dating for two years but Vergara and Loeb were spotted together in New York City in early June.
Wonderwall first reported the news of the engagement after a friend of the "Modern Family" actress, Hispanic sportscaster Fernando Fiore, posted a photo on Twitter that showed Vergara with a ring on her left hand ring finger which, in western cultures, signifies an engagement ring.
Vergara is known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on "Modern Family." She was nominated for two Emmys and two Golden Globes for the character. The ABC comedy series has won two Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series.
