Television viewers will see a few familiar faces during the Comedy Central Roast for Roseanne Barr, which is set to air on August 12.
Several of the 59-year-old comedienne's "Roseanne" cast members will make appearances on the program including Sarah Chalke, Michael Fishman and Alicia "Lecy" Goranson. Barr can be seen posing with Fishman and Goranson, who played her TV children D.J. and "original" Becky, in the photo above taken on the red carpet before the roast.
"I think this is kind of like every angry teenager's dream come true," Fishman, 30, joked to OnTheRedCarpet.com. "You get to see your mom, she's gonna get roasted. People are gonna say nasty stuff to her and she's just gonna take it. It's a perfect night."
In addition, Barr's ex-husband and former "Roseanne" cast member, Tom Arnold, also made an appearance at the roast. Barr and Arnold met on "Roseanne" and they were married between 1990 and 1994. The couple and had no children. Barr has three daughters and two sons from other relationships. One of her sons, Buck, also attended the roast.
"My son is here and he's very impressed. He thinks I'm famous," she joked to OnTheRedCarpet.com.
"Roseanne" starred Barr as Roseanne Conner, a potty-mouthed, working-class mother of three. The series ran from 1988 to 1997. John Goodman played her on-screen husband, Laurie Metcalf starred as her sister and Sara Gilbert played Roseanne's middle child, Darlene.
Chalke took over the role of Becky during the sixth season and later shared the role with Goranson on the show's eighth season.
Comedy Central made the announcement that the cast members would attend the roast early last week and the taping of the roast took place on August 4.
Several other roasters were added to the roster on August 2 as well, including Ellen Barkin, Wayne Brady and Gilbert Gottfried. They join the previously announced roasters Carrie Fisher, Seth Green, Katey Sagal, Anthony Jeselnik, Jeffrey Ross, and Amy Schumer.
Jane Lynch, who plays abrasive Sue Sylvester on the FOX musical sitcom "Glee," is the Roast Master.
Barr returned to television in July 2011 with the Lifetime Television reality series "Roseanne's Nuts," which saw her running a macadamia nut farm in Hawaii with her boyfriend Johnny Argent and son Jake. The show was canceled days after its season 1 finale on Sept. 16, 2011. She also details her life experiences in her book 'Roseannearchy: Dispatches from the Nut Farm,' which was released in January 2011.
When asked what she would do first if elected, Barr said in a video posted on ComedyCentral.com" Coast-to-coast free party. Free eats. I'm giving everybody the day of with pay, including myself. And them I'm going to bring back the McRib."
