Miley Cyrus showcases a 1980s-style look, complete with teased hair, on the cover of Marie Claire magazine's latest issue.

The 19-year-old pop singer and actress, who rose to fame as the title star of the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," took part in a sexy photo shoot for the outlet just before she debuted an even newer look - she traded in her dirty-blonde locks for a platinum style in mid-July. Cyrus, a natural brunette, has been posting photos of her new 'do since then. One seen on her Twitter page on Saturday shows her with her colorist.

In her interview with Marie Claire, which is published in the outlet's September 2012 issue, Cyrus shared details about her recent engagement to "The Hunger Games" actor Liam Hemsworth and their life at home in Los Angeles with their dogs.

Cyrus and the 22-year-old Australian star announced on June 6 their plans to marry. The pair met in 2009 when they co-starred as love interests in the film "The Last Song."

"A lot of people, I think, say, 'I can't believe they're getting married, [they're] so young' but it's like, life is too short to not spend every moment to make the person that makes you the happiest happy in return, so I'm really happy," Cyrus told Marie Claire.

Cyrus and Hemsworth have not yet announced a wedding date and the singer said she wants to have a "long engagement." Cyrus also told the magazine that she had "no input" about the 3.5-carat Neil Lane diamond yellow-gold engagement ring he gave her.

"We'd been kind of talking about [getting engaged], and I saw something like it online at one point and thought it was really pretty, but I usually wear rose gold." she said. "I just love that it's old and has a story. And I'm happy because it doesn't look like anything else I wear."

Cyrus and Hemsworth live in an 8,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style villa where her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, used to reside, according to the magazine. The singer's parents now live two homes away. She and Hemsworth have five dogs, including an English bulldog named Ziggy, who the magazine said chewed off two of her bracelets before her interview.

"She doesn't listen to me," she told Marie Claire. "She's in love with Liam. She loves me when he's gone, but she totally ate my diamonds on purpose. She was pooping them out all morning!"
